[Buyouts] Daily Wire - 2026-04-02

Mid-market sponsor activity in March came in at the high end of the trailing
four-quarter band, with deal volume up year-on-year and average deal size
roughly unchanged. Coverage stayed heavily skewed to industrial services,
healthcare services, and B2B software. Consumer remains thin. Two senior moves
worth noting: a former Bain Capital MD has joined a sector-focused growth firm
as Head of Sourcing, and a veteran KKR healthcare partner has taken a Senior
Advisor seat at a boutique.

[GroceryDive] - 2026-04-09

Walmart announced a refresh of its private-label nutrition standards. Kroger
reported quarterly results in line with analyst expectations. Albertsons
flagged a regional banner consolidation. A grocery analyst argues the value
tier across US groceries is becoming structurally more important as households
keep managing budgets - a familiar narrative. (Snipped: a longer piece on US
grocery promotional intensity, archived for reference but not relevant to
anything Halberd is currently working on.)

[Food Dive] - 2026-04-11

Tyson Foods announced leadership-team changes. Pilgrim's Pride reported a str=
ong
quarter on the back of chicken pricing. A specialty ingredients player closed=
 a
deal to acquire a European flavours business, framed around geographic
diversification and customer cross-sell.

[Sifted] - 2026-04-17

A European agtech company that uses sensor technology to monitor poultry-house
environmental conditions has announced a Series B led by an agtech-focused
growth fund. It targets dairy and poultry segments and is headquartered in the
Netherlands. (Note: broadly adjacent to some Halberd thinking on protein
adjacencies, but agtech sensor businesses are not platform investments and we
don't do early-stage. File for reference only.)

[Buyouts] Daily Wire - 2026-04-30

Closing out April with a fourth-straight month of mid-market deal activity ab=
ove
the trailing four-quarter average. Sponsor-to-sponsor volume is normalising
relative to 2022-23 lows. A senior partner at a US mid-market firm has depart=
ed
to launch a new sector-focused fund in industrial services.
